Political Ramblings and Pop Culture BS

OK, so first off  I’m very happy with the results of the election…I have a good feeling about America’s future…of course there are some who feel dread and foolishly believe we’re on our way to becoming the soviet union…please…I’ve seen a lot of blogs out there already saying that he lied to us….give it a rest, he’s not even in office yet…..these people though wouldn’t be happy with anything, they’re never satisfied….Hannity, Limbaugh, and the other loons, thank god Cuntier has her jaw wired, keep bringing up all the old tactics that didn’t work in the election….now we have the “Obama’s not a naturalized citizen…” brigade….talk about grasping at straws……these morons wouldn’t be satisfied even if there was video of Obama’s mother giving birth to him on the steps of the capital…..

when will palin go away? if I have to hear her never punctuated, rambling speech pattern one more time I’m going to gouge out my ear drums…..who are these people who think she’s the next coming?….I just do not get it….well, they must not be too swift if they think she’s any kind of leader….

prop 8….once again religion is used as a scare tactic in order to deny rights to a minority group…just like with blacks and women, the bible thumpers used their twisted fairy tales to justify their hatred and bigotry….I believe if there is a god,  these people are in for a rude awakening on judgement day….

what’s going on with TV?….two of my all time favorites, “E.R.” and “Boston Legal” are going off the air and some promising new shows like “Pushing Daises”, “Dirty, Sexy, Money” and “Eli Stone” are not being renewed….and what will we get?…another “Bachelor”…..more god awful reality shows?….is our society really that dumb?……or am I getting older and wiser?….

speaking of tv….Barbara WaWa had her 10 most fascinating show and all I can say is huh?….how does she pick these people?…2 were basically on there to promote their new movies, they did nothing fascinating……also, I watch the View and am getting so sick and tired of her self promoting whoring…..she’s only on now when she’s promoting a special or hocking her friggin memoir…

Alison Moyet

I went to see her live on 10/11/08 in Asbury Park……the show was phenomenal and her voice is stronger than ever…..but that’s not why I’m posting this…..

after the show I waited outside the stage door hoping to get to say hello…..this will probably be her last tour here in the states and I know I’ll never get a chance to meet her again….now, I’ve interacted with her on her website, like many other fans, and she always seemed gracious…..when she first walked out, I felt my heart skip and I could feel my nerves bundling up…..I patiently waited my turn to get a picture and say hello….when I told her my name, it took a minute but she knew who I was from her website and gave me a huge hug…….it felt good…..we chatted for a while and I could tell that she generally cares about her fans and is sincere…….the whole experience was wonderful and made my night complete…..I’ve always been concerned about meeting someone who’s music I’ve admired for the fear that you can catch them on a bad day or they’re just unpleasant and then enjoying their music is tainted…..I’m happy to say that this was definitely not the case here……..thank you Alison, thank you….

Bill O’Reilly…..The Hypocrite

last night I was flipping through channels and came across O’Reilly’s show.  he was ambushing a reporter down in Atlanta who dared called him out on his hypocrisy regarding Palin’s daughters pregnancy and his statements that the media needs to leave them alone.  this reporter reminded readers that when Jamie Lynn Spears became pregnant O’Reilly went on one of his infamous rants blaming the parents and calling the situation immoral a bad example for kids.  even though this rant was on tape, O’Reilly denies it, of course he does.  remember this is the same person who said of Micheal Jackson, “if someones paying hush money there is some truth to the accusations”….oh really, I guess the same goes for your payoff as well…..O’Reilly’s show is becoming more like “Jerry Springer” as the days go by.  although, at least Springer doesn’t take himself serious……

Yaz(oo) Live at The Beacon Theater 7/19/08

well, what can I say but wow! this concert was well worth the 25 year wait.  Alison Moyet’s voice is stronger than ever….she’s one of the rare vocalists that sound better live and in this day that’s a rarity…..Vince’s reworking of the sound was incredible as well, it gave each song a fresh feel to it….these songs did not sound dated and could stand up to anything on the charts today….the energy was great in the theater as well……nobody sat down for 99% of the show and sang along to most of the songs………I am so glad that I got the opportunity to see them live and it was an evening that I won’t soon forget…….here are 2 pictures from the evening….

Roger Federer

seems to be on his way to his 6th straight wimbledon victory….there is nothing like watching him play the game of tennis…..he never gets rattled, seems so focus even when he’s behind, and he hits some of the most incredible, effortless shot I’ve ever seen…..and to top it off, he’s admired and respected by all he plays against….no one has a bad word to say about him, they admire not only his greatness in the sport, but the fact that he is humble, and just a good person…..he attends every event associated with every tournament he’s involved in without hesitation and leaves what ever ego he has at the door…..he is a champion’s champion……………..

George Carlin…..R.I.P.

Rosie O’Donnell

her new book came out, I think I’ll get it…….the part about “the view” a small after though, an extension….but that’s all the media cares about….they pick the part they want to focus on, like with everything nowadays…Britney needs to read the book, she needs a celebrity detox……..i saw her trying to order taco bell….swarms of parasites surround her car everywhere she goes…….is this what we crave now, a pic of Britney ordering taco bell? maybe we’re the parasites too……
